The favourite flower
Ranunculus
Ranunculus is my most beloved flower. It is where the direction I work in today first began.
Ranunculus delight us with their bloom for only a short time. Perhaps that is why every encounter with them feels especially precious.
Their intricate beauty still amazes me. Hundreds of fine petals gathered into a perfect form open gradually, as if the flower keeps a small secret inside.
Creating ranunculus is the most meditative process for me. Each flower turns out a little different — its own arrangement of petals, its own character, its own mood. Some open lavishly, others form beautiful cascading transitions, others stay more closed. Sometimes it is a barely opened bud, sometimes a flower in full bloom.
Perhaps it is exactly this individuality that makes ranunculus so special to me.

My favourite transition
My favourite variation begins with a barely perceptible greenish tint at the very centre of the flower. It then flows softly into milky white and opens into a tender pink on the outer petals. For me it is one of the most beautiful combinations that exist in nature.
“Every time I see a ranunculus like this, my heart skips with admiration.”
